WMCFW DAY 3

Clutch - American Apparel | Headphones - Happy Plugs | Lipstick - "Red Carpet Ready" by Charlotte Tilbury
It's been a little while since my last fashion week, so I was happy to attend a few shows yesterday for #WMCFW. (Yes, I used a hashtag where it isn't applicable.)

I decided to leave my all black outfits at home for once, and opted for a skirt I bought at H&M (on sale for $15) a few months ago. I figured I could wear it now, while the weather is still cooperating, or wait 'til next year once the arctic tundra that is Toronto has warmed up again.

I started the day with Finezza, which I unfortunately didn't get any good shots of, but rest assured, it was a great show filled with a British dandy/Southern gent sensibility that I was all about.

Next up, a show I'd been looking forward to: Narces.

How beautiful and feminine are those dresses and gowns?! Not my usual cup of tea, but I'm a sucker for great details, and this collection was serving great detail after great detail, it was like I was at an all you can eat buffet.

I should have prefaced this post by saying that I didn't have to take my own outfit photos on this day. As some of you know, because I've mentioned it about a million times—I usually take my own outfit photos. So, when someone else offers, or I can ask someone else to take my photos, it's a good day for me. My pal Michael took these of me outside our office, and I have to give him credit because he made me look kind of approachable!

This skirt, though! I know I mentioned it earlier, but I never actually noted how much I love this skirt.  I was swishing around all day. Check my Instagram, I have proof!

Later in the evening, I had the Pink Tartan and Mackage shows: two very different aesthetics, and two very packed shows. The lines were insane! Note: fashion people are not afraid to throw elbows and push.

Both shows were packed, and with good reason—the collections were amazing.

I didn't attend any shows today, and it's doubtful I'll be at any tomorrow, but hey, I got one good day, with many great collections.

Have you visited the tents this season? Do you have any favourite designers/collections?

THE USUAL

I've definitely worn a very similar, basically identical, outfit before. However, a new leather jeacket deserves a blog post all its own, I think. It's only fair.

ANOTHER TIME

My outfit today felt a little "of another era." Also, my hair was doing something I liked, so I had to document it. Naturally.

LIPSTICK & LEATHER x CTD

Kane and I recently did some work with his younger brother Cary for his t-shirt line, CTD. We took to the streets of Toronto to shoot his latest collection, and  these are a few teaser shots.

I wasn't expecting to be in front of the camera at all for this, but alas, someone had to wear the ladies' t-shirt.
Graphic tee enthusiasts definitely need to check him out. He's also got hoodies, caps, and toques if graphic tees aren't necessarily your cup of tea.

You can follow him on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook. Or, better yet, if you want to buy pieces from his collection, check out his online shop HERE

WRAPPED

I love any garment that can hide a food baby, as I've been known to carry those every now and again. This dress is technically a body-con dress, but this cape/tie thing that wraps around my gut is a fantastic distraction from my lack of abs.

Sorry, not sorry. Faking it 'til I make it, folks. Maybe I'll shed the food baby one of these days—but not today, 'cause I really feel like a burger right now.

SUNDAY

Hat - Goorin Bros. | Shirt and Sandals - H&M | Lipstick - "Lady Danger" by MAC | Leather shorts - Rudsak | Bag - Eleven Thirty Shop
I haven't had a day off in over a week, I woke up a little hungover this morning, and I have a book I'm really excited to read, but can't right now, 'cause I'm at work—again. Despite all of these compaints, however, I can't even be in a bad mood when the weather's this beautiful. I'm not always the most chipper (my boyfriend will attest to that), but sunshine does wonders for even the crabbiest of humans.

I hope everyone's enjoying their day today, whatever you're doing.

HEAT WAVE

Looking cute while out and about  in 32 degrees is no easy feat. I commend women who can still wear a full face of makeup without it melting off of their skin. I, on the other hand, don't know a blush brush from a contour brush (aren't they the same? Is there even such a thing as a co tour brush?) so I've just had to live with upper-lip sweat and the like.

I also have to applaude people who walk around outside in suits, but look like they're walking along an air-conditioned building. I never look cool (literally and figuratively) during the summer. I get kinda sweaty, I look irritated, and while I LOVE hot weather, it's really difficult to wear things other than shorts, tank tops, and sandals.
Things get even trickier in office an environment, 'cause you have to look work appropriate. I've been really fortunate to work for creative offices where dresscodes are little more relaxed, but I still like to differentiate my day off attire from my work attire.

I'm staring to wear more skirts and flowy trousers--anything that's as good as shorts without actually being shorts. I could also probably help myself out and wear lighter colours, but let's be realistic.

CAMOUFLAGE

I tried another all white outfit today, and about half an hour into wearing it, I got avocado from my my breakfast on my shirt. Fortunately, I took these photos before that disaster.

In all honesty, the stains aren't even that visible—I'm just being dramatic.

Also, let's all acknowledge and laugh (it's okay) at how my non-tan and outfit blend into this white door I'm standing in front of.
